Civilian MRE
With civilian MREs, more emphasis needs to be placed on a combination of nutrition with flavor because let’s face it, if something doesn’t taste good, you’re not going to buy it. Those no taste fat-free foods of the last 30 years have proven that time and time again, right?
Does this mean that civilian MREs aren’t as good for you is military MREs? No, it certainly doesn’t as many civilian MREs contain the same vitamins and minerals that are necessary for your nutrition while giving you enough calories and energy to power through even the toughest of survival situations.
All in all, civilian MREs are just as tough as their military counterparts, it’s just that the companies who manufacture them need to appeal to a far greater range of taste preferences so that they can continue to sell meals well into the future.
This is actually a good thing if you’re considering purchasing civilian MREs for your next outdoor adventure, or to store away in case a survival situation or natural disaster strikes.
By having some civilian MREs on hand, you can make sure that you are not only nutritionally prepared but also that you won’t have to go through a stressful situation with a bad taste in your mouth.
